About Me

While most of my working life I have worked in the administrative field, and completing many courses that apply to office work, as with most people I have also worked in other fields such as retail selling jewelry, ladies wear, even work wear and for a brief time sold real estate.

Growing up I was very active in sports, Highland dancing, and creative activities, with a strong desire to work in the art arena. It wasn't until I volunteered in Cub Scouts that my creative abilities really came to the forefront - with my forte being making something out of nothing.

I have tried my hand at quilting, ceramics, your usual home renovations and found that I had an eye for color and decorating.

I have graduated courses in Makeup Artistry, became a Certified Wedding Planner thru the Wedding Planners Institute of Canada; received my certificate in Event & Meeting Management at George Brown College; as well as my certificate through Seneca College in Event & Exhibit Design where I graduated on the Dean's list. I also obtained my Floral Design Certificate through the Canadian Institute of Floral Design.

While I have many interests, it would seem that my passion lies in creating particularly creating floral designs and making jewelry - especially those with semi-precious stones and glass beads for their energy boosting properties. I love real flowers, however my focus is on the silk flower arrangements due to their long lasting ability.

Designs by Deborah was founded as an offshoot of a previous business called Champagne Events Decor & Rentals, which was an event and wedding decor and rental company, providing rentals and decor for weddings and events.

Our focus has been redirected and now the focus is one of a kind indoor silk floral and custom designs, along with hand crafted jewelry designs.
